Location of Regenta Arie Resort
We arrived in Sri Lanka from India around 10 pm at night.
We were to spend the next five days touring Sri Lanka. The Regenta Arie Lagoon, only 15 km from Bandaranaike Airport, was perfectly positioned for our first night before heading off to explore. The hotel is located 7 km from the Negombo Railway Station.

The Regenta Ari Resort is tucked between the Arie Lagoon and the Indian Ocean in the fishing village of Thalahena, Negombo.
Our Stay at the Regenta Arie Resort
Arriving just before midnight, our check-in was fast and efficient. We had had a long day sightseeing in Delhi before flying with Sri Lankan Airlines to Colombo.
This was our first visit to Sri Lanka. As we opened our bedroom door, we were amazed at the size of the 45 sqm room and its decor. The bathroom was large and funky, with a large shower area and rainshower. We collapsed into the king-size bed with its luxurious cotton sheets and medium-to-firm pillows.
We woke early and headed to the restaurant for breakfast. Arriving in the dark the night before, we were unaware of our surroundings and the hotel’s beautiful location on Arie Lagoon.
The restaurant overlooks two infinity pools that lead out towards the lagoon. What a beautiful location to spend a week or so. Unfortunately, we were heading off to Dambulla after breakfast. Such a pity that we could not stay longer.
The breakfast buffet was extensive, with many Asian and Western hot dishes on offer. There was a range of exotic fruits and pastries to enjoy with fresh tropical juices, and the local Sri Lankan tea was exceptional with its rich flavours and smooth texture.

There are two infinity pools, the Arie Spa, and a gym. On the lake, you can kayak, paddle, or fish. There is even a children’s playground.
Regenta Arie Resort is popular for weddings. There was one taking place that afternoon.
