Workcation Australia – Work and Play Away from Home

Want to get away and work in peace and quiet in a relaxing atmosphere?

The 2020 new buzz word “Workcation” is where you work and play away from home (also called workation).

What is a Workcation?

With social distancing regulations in place around the world, companies are encouraging their workers to work remotely as long as they have a strong, fast and reliable WiFi connection.  You could work from home but if your company does not mind where you are working from why not combine your working week with some well-deserved downtime.

If you are struggling to work productively from home you could consider a workcation.  Just take your office with you, a peaceful location where you can run your zoom calls for important meetings and attend webinars.

The trend has grown substantially since COVID 19 due to fears of flying safely, airlines that have drastically reduced their schedules and government’s travel restrictions.

Hotels around the world are now offering unique packages – for example in The Dukes London Hotel (according to the Daily Mail) you have your own work butler.

What does a work butler do?

Apparently, your work butler will scan and print documents for you, serve you morning and afternoon tea, a healthy lunch and at the end of your workday your butler will bring you a chilled glass of your favourite beverage. Sounds perfect to us!

“This place was immaculate. Spotlessly clean. Beautifully presented just like the photos. The wireless internet is high speed (80-100 mb/s download). There is an excellent office area for those looking for a workplace to stay in. Facilities are great – the gym is huge and has plenty of equipment surpassing most apartment gyms by a long way. The gym is extremely clean. It has a sauna and change-rooms. The beds were really comfortable, the showers were big, and there is a luxurious spa bath in the main suite.
