Nora Beach Resort & Spa is located 5.1 km from the centre of Chaweng and Chaweng Beach.  The Resort offers a shuttle bus to Chaweng Beach at 4 pm each day.  We used the shuttle to head to Chaweng Beach for happy hour in the beach bars and then to enjoy a meal in town. The journey takes around 10 minutes depending on traffic.

It is easy to get a tuk-tuk to return back to the hotel – their average cost was THB100 per person.

Why Did We Choose Nora Beach Resort & Spa

We wanted a hotel that was located away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng and Chaweng Beach but close enough to visit in the evening for dinner. A buffet breakfast needed to be included in the price. A room with ocean views was also required.

We also wanted a hotel with a pool and that had a beachfront location. We also wanted to enjoy spa treatments at the resort.

Nora Beach Resort ticked all of the boxes for us.

Even though we stayed over Easter it did not seem to be too crowded. Most people we saw were at different times during breakfast.  The pool did get a little busy in the afternoon after people came back from sightseeing.

Wondering what to see and do in Koh Samui?

The place to be on a Friday night from 5 pm to 11 pm is the Fishermans Village Walking Street at Bophut.  The street itself during the day offers some of the best boutique shopping on the island. On Friday nights you can buy the usual Thai market souvenirs, clothes, jewellery etc and the food stalls offer the best of the local street food with our favourite Pad Thai dish for only a couple of dollars.

Good to know: it does get very busy and you may have trouble getting a tuk-tuk or taxi back to your hotel straight away.

Where To Eat in Koh Samui

You will not be short of places to eat in Koh Samui from street food to small family-run restaurants but our favourites are oceanfront restaurants in Koh Samui with a view.  What could be more special on your vacation.

We had a guided tour of the Nora Buri Resort where we view the accommodation, spa and restaurant facilities. Access to the beach is via an underground tunnel.  There are pools on the hillside and also on the beachside. It has a more modern feel moving away from the traditional older architecture of the Nora Beach Resort (it is a younger property and you can tell this in the decor and the feel of the resort).

The resort also has the Anodas Signature Spa and a larger gym.

Dining options include:

The Manora Restaurant for breakfast

The Barge Restaurant for Lunch and Dinner (Western)

3 Bars – The Hillside Pool Bar, Beach Bar and Lobby Bar

Latest Guest Review

We had such a relaxing time at Nora Buri Resort. It had everything we needed with an exceptional buffet breakfast, 3 restaurants and 2 different pools. The luxury of being transported around in a golf cart was extra special for us. Our room was spacious as well as our bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable that sometimes I never wanted to leave. The private pool was also very nice with wonderful views. It was nice to have a spa onsite as well, which allowed us to be pampered with the honeymoon package without having to leave the comfort of the resort. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, we couldn’t fault a thing. Everything about our stay was amazing would happily recommend to anyone.
