What is the best airport to fly to in Vietnam?
This is a question we get asked quite often. The answer depends on where you are visiting and what you intend to do when visiting Vietnam.
If you consider visiting Northern Vietnam, we recommend flying into and out of Hanoi.
If you consider visiting Central Vietnam, we recommend flying into and out of Da Nang.
If you consider visiting Southern Vietnam, we recommend flying into and out of Ho Chi Minh City.

Can Tho International Airport (Iata Code VCA)
Can Tho Airport is located in the Cuu Luong Province and provides airport facilities for the province and for travel in the Mekong Delta. It is located 8km north-west of the city of Can Tho.
There are two floors to the terminal in 2 main areas:
- The Domestic Terminal Area for departures and arrivals is to the left
- The International Terminal Area for departures and arrivals is to the right
International flights land from Seoul and Taipei.

There is an airport bus to Can Tho city, which runs from 05.30 am to 6.30 pm every 6 minutes and costs VND 5,000 (USD0.25) – Phuong Trang Airport Bus Service takes 55 minutes to travel 23 km.
There are taxi’s available at the front of the terminal. Mai Linh Taxis are reputable. Taxi fares typically range from 12,000 VND to 15,000 VND per kilometre.
Can Tho Airport Hotels

Currently, Chu Lai Airport only services flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It is located 33 km from Tam Ky City. It takes 20 minutes to by taxi to the city.

Da Lat Airport is known as Lien Khuong and is located 30 kms south of Da Lat. It mainly services domestic flights from:

International flights to Da Nang Airport operate from Singapore, Seoul, South Korea and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Fly to Da Nang on AirAsia, Vietnam Airlines, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, China Eastern, Jetstar, and SilkAir.
You can fly into Da Nang and then travel to Hue 93 km away which takes approximately 2 hours. You can pre-book a private transfer here.
If you are visiting Hoi An we would recommend flying into Da Nang. It is only a 30 km journey which takes approximately 48 minutes.

Taxis are available and are metered. It will cost between USD3 – 5 for the 10-minute ride to the city of Da Nang from Da Nang Airport.
The local bus is an 8-minute walk from the terminal.
Grab is available in Danang.

Hai Phong International Airport

Hai Phong Airport is also known as Cat Bi Airport and is located 8 km south-east of Hai Phong city.
The terminal has departures on the 2nd floor with domestic check-in gates from 1 – 16 and international check-in gates from 17 – 29.

Taxis are available from the airport to the city for between VND 12,000 – 17,000 and 0.50 – 0.70 USD cents per km.
Cat Bi Airport Hotels
Hanoi Airport
Hanoi Airport is called Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), located 45 km from the city centre.

Hanoi City Buses are available for VND 5,000 (USD0.3). As you exit the terminal on the right look for buses 7 & 17. The journey time is 1 hour. The buses run every 15 – 20 minutes from 5.00 am to 10.00 pm.
Grab, the alternative to Uber, is available from the terminal to the city. You will need to download the Grab app before travelling. There may be an airport departure fee for your Grab journey; check with your driver.
There are taxis from Hanoi Airport to the city; they are metered and are available from the arrivals level of the Domestic and International terminals.
The journey takes 30 minutes and costs approximately VND320,000 (USD14.00).

Hanoi Airport is serviced by over 20 international carriers.
Ho Chi Minh City Airport

Ho Chi Minh City’s International Airport is called Tan Son Nhat (SGN) and is located 6 km north of the centre of the city – District 1.

Airport Bus #109 runs from the International Airport to Pham Ngu Lao Street from 05.30 am to 01.30 am daily. It takes 45 minutes and costs VDN20,000 (USD0.90)
Grab is available in Ho Chi Minh City.
Taxis – the main taxi rank is to the left as you exit the terminal. Taxis should be metered, make sure that you ask them to turn the meter on when you enter. Average costs to District 1 are between VND 150,000 – VND 170,000 (USD6.50 – USD7.50). There is a VND 10,000 (USD0.50) airport surcharge.

Hue Airport
Hue Airport is called Phu Bai Airport (HUI) is 15 km from Hue City.

Airport buses are available to the city centre from VND30,000 – VND 40,000 (USD1.30 – USD1.75).
Hue Taxi’s are a fixed price at VND150,000 (USD9.00).

Nha Trang Airport is called Cam Ranh International Airport. It is located 30 km from the town of Cam Ranh in the Khanh Hoa province.

Facilities include shopping, currency exchange, ATMs.
There are fixed fares for taxis to the city depending on your final destination which ranges from VND 200,000 (USD9.00) to VND 300,000 (USD 13.00). Mai Linh is the reputable taxi company you should consider, but agree the price up front.
The best bus company from Nha Trang Airport to Nha Trang City Centre is Dat Moi. You can purchase tickets from the Dat Moi Desk in the terminal for VND 60,000 (USD2.60). The journey takes 1 hour to travel 35 km. It is bus #18 and runs from 05.00 am to 21.55 pm and drops at 10 Yersin Street Nha Trang in the city centre.

Phu Quoc International Airport
Phu Quoc International Airport is located 30 km south of downtown Phu Quoc (Duong Dong).
Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet and Bamboo Airways service the airport.
International carriers: Singapore Airlines, Jetstar, Scoot, Malaysian Airlines, China Southern, Cathay Pacifc
Taxi counters are outside the arrival terminals.
The cost of taxis ranges from VND90,000 (USD3.90) to VND600,00 (USD26.00) depending on your destination.
There is a shuttle bus that runs from the airport to Duong Dong and tickets are priced at VND50,000 (USD2.15)

Quang Ninh International Airport
Quang Ninh International Airport is known as Van Don and is located on Van Don Island in the Bai Tu Long archipelago 50 km from Ha Long Bay.
As it is a new airport recently opened in 2018 air ticket prices are still quite high with limited services being offered.
